Many people will experience a problem with their boiler in the early evening or late at night (as boilers don’t pick and choose when to throw in the towel!) and homeowners will simply leave it until the morning to call a plumber, thinking that will be the end of a minor inconvenience. However, leaving a boiler or heater in a faulty state can be dangerous for many reasons. Firstly, the presence of CO (the chemical name for carbon monoxide) is dangerous if left unchecked. With many boilers experiencing leaks as their main problem, carbon monoxide can leak and spread around the house quickly and, potentially, with lethal effects.
Pressure issues are also time sensitive. A small pressure drop or spike can often be remedied by hand within minutes, but it can also be the sign of a more serious problem. Boilers, if not in a good state of repair, and left in a faulty state, can become volatile. What can start off as a pressure spike can, if the problem is severe enough, cause an explosion in the pipes or the boiler itself. Then a small remedial job has become a complete replacement.
It’s not just about the boiler itself either. Blocked, split or corroded pipes can manifest themselves at the most inconvenient time of day (or night) and don’t discriminate between weekdays and weekends.
This is why it’s important, no matter what the time of day, to get a professional opinion and to get repair or boiler replacement proceedings underway as soon as possible.
No1PHD serve Portsmouth and the surrounding area 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and have a team of trained, efficient and helpful plumbers and boiler repair staff ready to attend site, diagnose the problem and, if they cannot fix it there and then, suggest the next important steps. Remember, we are available on; 08006906777
Many companies will either tell customers to wait until the morning, or, at the weekends, to call again at the start of the week. Unfortunately, in this time, the problem can get worse, but for the customer, it can mean several days of sitting in the cold, unable to take a bath or a shower or have any kind of hot running water. In the Winter, this can be unbearable. No1PHD will be happy to attend, make the immediate issue safe and legal and go from there, no matter what time of day or night it is. Furthermore, there is no annoying ‘skeleton staff at a call centre’ scenario; our teams can provide the same friendly, professional and accommodating service via their 0800 number. There is no call out charge, we offer easy and flexible payment options (no cash in hand repairs at 3am!) and all repairs are guaranteed. This means that you can return safely to bed, knowing the heating engineer has carried out the best possible service and issued all legal paperwork.
Absolutely blown away by the service we received. Took all the stress out of losing our heating and hot water. Highly recommended!

Couldn’t have asked for a faster resolution to our drainage conundrum. Nothing was too much for these guys who were brilliant throughout.

It’s definitely true that there are many options for heating and boiler repairs, but at the most inconvenient times, few can match the flexibility and professionalism that No1PHD offers. We also know that an emergency heating engineer on your doorstep in the early hours can be daunting and that is why all of our engineers are fully CRB checked. There really is no need to call anyone else; No1PHD can and should be your first port of call. Phone us on 08006906777 for an immediate reply and to arrange a callout.
After noticing that the house was unusually cold, we found that the heating wasn’t coming on and that our hot water had also failed. We called the team at No 1 PHD who dispatched an engineer to investigate. After discovering that the culprit was a faulty boiler part, they ordered in a new part and got it fitted as quickly as possible. The guys were great, and we couldn’t be happier.
For days, we’ve noticed a foul smell coming from outside and a gurgling sound coming from one of the drains. Whenever it would rain, the area around it would flood slightly and take ages to drain. We tried buying drain unblockers, but none seemed effective. Eventually, we turned to No 1 PHD and were left wondering why we didn’t do this sooner.
