Is your boiler due for its next annual inspection? For commercial property owners, including landlords, annual inspections are mandatory. While not so for private homeowners, they’re still highly recommended. Upon completion of every inspection, an up-to-date gas safety certificate will be issued. This verifies that your boiler is working correctly and, most importantly, safely.
Here at No1 PHD, our Bournemouth boiler servicing experts are Gas Safe registered and fully trained to carry out annual inspections and certifications on all types of boilers. And our servicing checks cover every aspect too, including:
Each inspection is intended to expose underlying faults, look for signs of wear and tear, and spot evidence of damage. As each issue is exposed, it will be immediately addressed. If no issues arise, the inspection will be signed off and your boiler certified as fully operational. It’s vital, not just for convenience-sake but for the safety of any occupants, to ensure that you don’t miss a single servicing. When it comes to the condition of your boiler, it pays to never take risks. You might think that you can get away with putting off an inspection, but the repercussions could be severe. There’s the financial side of things to start with; servicing identifies faults early on before they become costly to put right. And it might even save your boiler entirely – boilers are expensive, and you don’t want to be having to buy a new one if you can avoid it, although we of course offer new boiler installations as part of are plumbing and heating services we provide.
Servicing a boiler helps with your energy bills too as it increases efficiency. But most importantly, it will keep you and your family safe. If not correctly maintained, a boiler can expel harmful gases, namely carbon monoxide, back into the property. Carbon monoxide poisoning is virtually impossible to detect until symptoms start to show, and it can result in a person being hospitalised. So, now you know the risks, make sure you call our Bournemouth boiler servicing experts today.
Absolutely blown away by the service we received. Took all the stress out of losing our heating and hot water. Highly recommended!

We’ll arrange a time and date to carry out the servicing that’s convenient for you. This should be around one year since your last inspection, though the date doesn’t have to be exact. As part of a routine servicing, our boiler servicing experts in Bournemouth will carry out a range of checks. Checks include looking for signs of corrosion and damage, checking seals and gaskets, the heat exchanger, looking for signs of heat or distress, and inspecting the appliance’s overall condition.
The exhaust gases will also be checked as these are responsible for carbon monoxide poisoning. In addition, our engineers will also look at other areas too. This includes whether the appliance is suitable for the room it’s located in and whether it’s securely mounted and physically stable. All elements will be inspected, from the flues to the air vents, and they’ll look to see if there’s adequate air supply. Our team will leave no stone unturned and can even check your carbon monoxide detectors too.
Once the servicing is concluded, a written record will be provided of any work carried out and the status of the boiler. If further action is required, you’ll be advised at this stage; otherwise, the servicing will be signed off as completed. You can expect a hassle-free service from start-to-finish and for all work to be completed by a highly trained and proficient heating specialist.

After noticing that the house was unusually cold, we found that the heating wasn’t coming on and that our hot water had also failed. We called the team at No 1 PHD who dispatched an engineer to investigate. After discovering that the culprit was a faulty boiler part, they ordered in a new part and got it fitted as quickly as possible. The guys were great, and we couldn’t be happier.
For days, we’ve noticed a foul smell coming from outside and a gurgling sound coming from one of the drains. Whenever it would rain, the area around it would flood slightly and take ages to drain. We tried buying drain unblockers, but none seemed effective. Eventually, we turned to No 1 PHD and were left wondering why we didn’t do this sooner.
