Call on the experts in bathroom installation

Fitting a new bathroom isn’t a job to be underestimated. Most bathrooms are put through their paces every day, so fitting a new one needs to be carried out by an expert to make sure everything is robust and watertight. Our experienced team of bathroom fitters will project manage your job to ensure every aspect runs smoothly.

All our fitters are very experienced and undergo training on a rolling basis to be qualified and certified to fit new bathrooms. Moreover, they always act in a considerate manner in your home to minimise the upheaval this type of job can entail.

Starting off the project

We’re very happy to visit you to discuss your new bathroom and give you a quote under no obligation. We’ll also provide a schedule for completion to help you plan the job, making sure the work goes ahead on time and on budget. Our trade partners include the best brands and stockists for quality goods at fair prices. Providing pictures and catalogues, we’ll suggest options for your new bathroom, for example, whether to choose bathroom tiling or panelling on the walls.

Carrying out a survey

The first important step when preparing for a new bathroom is a survey to assess:

  • The available space
  • The pipework infrastructure
  • Your boiler

In line with the above steps, our fitters inspect your current bathroom space to make sure the dimensions allow for the new design. This ensures a precise fit and room to move about in this important place. Part of our checking is to assess the state of your current pipework and boiler performance to make sure these will support your new facilities. Then, we ensure the disposal of your old bathroom in line with environmental guidelines.

Safe steps for bathroom installation

When removing your old suite, we first shut off the water supply. Then, we take away the existing waste pipes so new ones can be fitted. Also, we disconnect any electrics and cap these off safely while we work. Since we always operate with respect for your home, our professional plumbers will lay carpet protectors in areas where they need to work for access and will also arrange for a skip for proper waste disposal.

Fitting your new suite

When we’ve cleared your old suite away and prepared the bathroom, we’ll fit the new supply pipes, including the waste pipes for the sink, shower, bath and toilet. It’s important these are firmly connected so the new bathroom can be properly installed.

As a final step, we’ll test the new pipework, then connect up the new suite, making sure all connections are watertight and that everything works correctly, e.g. the taps run, the toilet flushes, the water drains away etc. Finally, we finish off the job by arranging for the miscellaneous jobs like floor coverings, decoration and blinds to add the finishing touches to a sterling job.

The cost of the job

The costs of a new bathroom can be very individual, depending on the fixtures you choose. We will always work within your budget and give you a range of options at different prices. Of course, if a job is complex and involves a top-of-the-range suite, it will be priced accordingly. Our goal is to make sure you get exactly the bathroom you want and need. We ask all our customers to please bear in mind that a professional installation will save you from the hassle of a less than a satisfactory job where corners may be cut to shave off money. This can end up costing you more in the long run if repairs or remedial work are required.

The duration of the project

A bit like cost, the time it takes to fit your new bathroom suite will depend on a range of factors. We do promise, however, that we always strive to get the job done to a high standard in the minimum time, listening to our customers every step of the way.

After noticing that the house was unusually cold, we found that the heating wasn’t coming on and that our hot water had also failed. We called the team at No 1 PHD who dispatched an engineer to investigate. After discovering that the culprit was a faulty boiler part, they ordered in a new part and got it fitted as quickly as possible. The guys were great, and we couldn’t be happier.

Mr Lincoln

For days, we’ve noticed a foul smell coming from outside and a gurgling sound coming from one of the drains. Whenever it would rain, the area around it would flood slightly and take ages to drain. We tried buying drain unblockers, but none seemed effective. Eventually, we turned to No 1 PHD and were left wondering why we didn’t do this sooner.
